China expresses indignation over leak of UN draft report on DPRK

U.S. political suppression of non-American firms doomed to boomerang: China

What they have done not only is far from the truths and science, but has dragged the world's most important relationship into a dangerous zone.

Figures from the World Bank's Doing Business 2020 report show that China has made greater progress in the 2005-2020 period than any other large economy in terms of facilitating the ease of doing business. Moreover, China's Ministry of Commerce is amending a regulation on foreign strategic investments in Chinese listed firms to ease thresholds and restrictions on foreigners buying equity stakes.

"Resolving issues of common concern through dialogue is the only way to achieve win-win results," said the CSRC. "Only by doing so can a sound environment for the healthy and orderly operation of the global capital market be created."

After the national security legislation for Hong Kong was introduced this year, some U.S. politicians became more aggressive, passing the so-called "Hong Kong Autonomy Act" to malign the law, flagrantly interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's domestic affairs, and severely damaging the trust between the two countries.

"The Taiwan question concerns China's sovereignty, territorial integrity and core interests. China has firm resolve in upholding its sovereignty and security," said Wang.

But facts speak louder than words. No countries in Africa or Latin America have complained about falling into such a "debt trap" because of their cooperation with China. That's why Robert Zoellick, the former World Bank president, has said: "Those who see China only as a disruptor are misleading themselves. Frankly, self-deception is very dangerous in diplomacy."

In sharp contrast to the United States' approach, more than 70 countries expressed their support for the legislation at a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council, representing the shared voice of the international community.

The expert said Trump is trying to use the strategic battle with China as an electoral card to seek reelection in November's presidential elections.

The HKSAR government's decision to postpone the elections due to the severe pandemic situation is a justified and necessary step to ensure safety and health of Hong Kong citizens and the safety, fairness and impartiality of the elections, the spokesperson said.

Spokesman Wang Wenbin made the remarks at a press briefing when asked to comment on reports saying the United States plans to sell arms to Taiwan again.
